This set of 4 different mugs each feature one of the four different umbrella girls used since 1914 when they introduced a cute little girl walking in a rain storm with an umbrella, and a round carton of table salt tucked under her arm, spilling out as she walks, with their famous slogan, When it Rains, It Pours. The 1914 mug features their first cute girl with “springy” hair and a L hook handle on the umbrella. The 1921 girl was given a more modern dress and a U hook handle on the umbrella parasol. Both are blue on white. The 1956 Mug shows her in a more modern dress, pigtails and new shoes, Color was added, she is now yellow and blue on white. The 1968 mug graphics introduces the girl we all recognize today. It is also yellow and blue on white. All 4 mugs are a matched set from a promotion by Morton Salt in the late 1960’s, when they introduced their new Umbrella Girl. They make a very beautiful set. Each mug has Unique Characteristics from the advertising of the era, each with the date of the graphics on the front. It says, When it Rains, it Pours on all of them.
