You can see lift the neutral / natural leather flap to confirm from the unfinished back side that it is genuine leather. Although the traditional floral motif designs of the tooled leather give a convincing appearance of being hand tooled, on close inspection it can be seen the details, in high relief, are a little too regular, and I am confident that the tooling is either die stamped or similarly manufactured.
